To support the dialogue between science and society, as well as researchers across different disciplines, IRI THESys holds both external and internal events. Workshop "Art in Science"
The workshop is designed for doctoral researchers and postdocs from the Berlin University Alliance engaged in sustainability-related fields such as natural sciences, geography, social sciences, agriculture and economics, and those wishing to work on transdisciplinary projects. The facilitators are also doctoral candidates or students themselves.

The concept
The "Art in Science" workshop seeks to break down current frontiers in research and scientific communication by promoting innovative interdisciplinary methodologies which infuse artistic and participatory elements into research practices.

What to expect
- Day 1 (02 July: 10 am - 5 pm): Introduction to art-based methods and scientific communication in interdisciplinary research
- Day 2 (03 July: 10 am - 5 pm): Practical session with project planning and development
- Day 3 (10 July: 10 am - 1:30 pm): Project presentation
The workshop will take place in Berlin Mitte.

What comes next?
The workshop results are planned to be exhibited during the Berlin Science Week in November. An exhibition at Tropentag 2025 in Bonn is also being considered.
