The Berlin University Alliance (BUA) has announced the selection of eleven projects for the first funding phase of their #TD-Lab Funding Program. THESys researchers are engaged in three of them!
What are TD-Labs?
TD-Labs are Laboratories for Transdisciplinary Research, designed to increase the impact of ongoing research projects by involving social actors with their practical perspectives and practical knowledge in the research.
THESys-Related Projects:
Living with Water – Plural Knowledges for Water Adaptation
Led by THESys postdoc Dr. Rossella Alba, this project aims to develop water stories with and by local actors in the Altes Land. Local challenges in water management are explored through methods at the interface between communities, art and research.
Infrastructural Rhythms: Connecting Water, Art, and Science Across Boundaries
In this project, THESys team Prof. Tobias Krüger, Laura Betancur Alarcón, and Pauline Münch will use transdisciplinary workshops, excursions, and reflections to examine the water infrastructures of the Spree River. Their goal: uncovering socio-ecological inequalities in the water-energy-nutrition nexus. This initiative is part of the Water4Whom research project.
Transdisciplinary Integration via the CliWaC Explorer
A team by THESys researchers Dr. Márk Somogyvári, Dr. Fabio Brill, Dr. Thomas Vogelpohl and Prof. Dr. Tobia Lakes together with their colleagues Dr. Pedro Henrique Lima Alencar and Prof. Dr. Eva Paton from TU Berlin, will enhance the CliWaC Explorer, a digital tool for data support for research, education, politics and civil society on the topic of water and climate in Berlin-Brandenburg. Through workshops with users and developers, they aim to refine the tool to better meet societal needs. These activities are part of the CliWaC research project.
