On 7 February 2025, Aditya Korekallu Srinivasa successfully defended his PhD thesis and graduated with magna cum laude.

In his PhD project, Aditya identified the key barriers, including economic and financial challenges, as well as institutional and governance issues, which calls for reframing solar-powered irrigation systems (SPIS) incentives and better coordination among implementing agencies. Also, the study found that the farmers’ intentions to adopt SPIS are positively influenced by their attitude, social norms, and perceived behavioral control, while technophobia has a negative impact. Farmers prefer SPIS policies that include a 10-year loan repayment period and guaranteed service provision for 10 years, suggesting that integrating credit and longer warranty periods can incentivize adoption.

We congratulate Aditya on the completion of his doctoral thesis and wish him all the best for his future!

Aditya will be working as a scientist (Senior scale) for the Indian Council of Agricultural Research – Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India.
