An outstanding contributions to analysing and managing flood risks

The International Association for Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) honours the promotion of hydrological sciences across all disciplines. Heidi Kreibich receives the prize for her outstanding contributions to analysing and managing flood risks in dynamic human-water systems.

The International Hydrology Award is presented annually by the IAHS in cooperation with UNESCO and the WMO (World Meteorological Organisation). The award ceremony will take place at the beginning of November in Florianopolis, Brazil, during the joint conference of the IAHS and the Brazilian Association for Water Resources (ABRHidro).

Heidi Kreibich is head of the Working Group “Flood risk and climate adaptation“ in the Hydrology Section at GFZ Potsdam, and a private lecturer at the Geography Department of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
