IRI THESys PhD student interviewed by Der Spiegel

IRI THESys doctoral researcher Laura Betancur was recently interviewed by Der Spiegel for their reportage “Die Wächter der Unterwelt” (The Guardians of the Underworld). In the piece, Laura provided insights on the growing movement for rivers’ rights and how local communities in Colombia are emerging as reference points in Latin America for legal and social initiatives to protect their territories. The interview highlights the relevance of grassroots cultural actions beyond the limitations of legal frames.
