On 25 October 2023, Constanze Werner successfully defended her PhD thesis and graduated with magna cum laude.
In her PhD project, Constanze Werner assessed the global biophysical potential and limitations of a negative emission technology that is currently underrepresented in these discussions: pyrogenic carbon capture and storage (PyCCS).

Constanze is currently working at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) as part of the EU project NEGEM, which focuses on “Deploying Responsible Negative Emissions”.
