On November 25, 2022, THESys Member Robert Arlinghaus was awarded the Inter Circle U Prize (ICUP) 2022. The prize recognizes outstanding examples of inter- and transdisciplinary research from nine European universities.
Joint solutions for sustainable fisheries
Robert Arlinghaus and his team received the award for their long-standing commitment to sustainable fisheries research, which always involves key stakeholders from research, practice and politics. The projects Adaptfisch, Besatzfisch, Baggersee and Boddenhecht are convincing examples of how knowledge transfer to society can succeed in order to manage water bodies sustainably.
The award ceremony took place during the “Conference on Inter- and Transdisciplinary Research for Sustainable Development” at the Belgian Université catholique de Louvain. A recording of the event is available on YouTube: Circle U. ERIA ICUP Ceremony.
