Managing Director
Axel Klie is Managing Director of IRI THESys. He studied philosophy, sociology and sports sciences at the University Bielefeld, the Eberhardt-Karls-University Tübingen and the Free University Berlin. For his doctoral studies in philosophy he joined the interdisciplinary Research Training Group „Genesis, Structures and Impacts of Science and Technology“ at the University Bielefeld and spent an academic year at the New York University (NYU). Axel obtained his PhD at the University Bielefeld in 2000. Having worked as consultant and in public relations for about ten years, he commenced to work as a science manager at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2010. First, Axel was coordinator of a doctoral programme in philosophy, then he worked as science officer at the university’s Research Service Centre.
In February 2018, he became Managing Director of IRI THESys.
